I create in the moment so future generations can know who "I AM."

Raised between the Bible Belt river city of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and the salty air of Seaford, Delaware, Shnazzy grew up on sweet tea, crab chips, cultural awakenings, mischief, and a healthy streak of rebellion. Through more than a dozen schools and a patchwork of homes, art became her singular constant.

 

That restless ever shifting upbringing lives in the work: layered, intimate paintings that carry the grit, humor, and tenderness of everywhere she's been and every experience she longs for.

It's important to note that Shnazzy's work is also a testament to her belief in the divine and serves her faith. Through many years of exploring the mechanics of various structures, she has come to see humanity as the ultimate system of a higher power and art created by humans as evidence that the system has functioned.
